GM is about to bring/hire 500 people for computer data base center in NW Austin Texas. The stream of people just keep coming to Austin. This move for GM once again shows how Austin is a very tech heavy area. We have a very educated work force and as the economy shifts more and more from production and manufacturing to tech Austin will be a major beneficiary to this. Which likely means increased real estate values as more and more people move to town. As more manufacturing is transferred over seas it hurts the NE United States who have been heavily manufacturing. So it is a shift in the economy and all signs are pointing to Austin.
